With the kids on safari

Arusha

The journey starts in Arusha city, the safari capital of Tanzania. You will be welcomed at the airport and spend the first night in a comfortable hotel in a suburb of the city. In this nice place you can immediately enjoy the sounds of crickets and birds in the background with a snack and drink. And of course a swim in the pool is also part of the fun.

Lake Manyara

Before arriving at Lake Manyara National Park, you will drive through the village of Mto wa Mbu. This typical African village has a colorful local market with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. Definitely worth a look around there and see what local products are traded. You will be amazed!

You then stay two nights in the middle (or near) the park, where you can also go on a walking or night safari. There is a good chance that elephants and other animals will walk by while you enjoy a cold drink by the tent. If it has rained there is a river nearby with a waterfall in which you can swim and play. But a campfire is always there and maybe marshmallows too…!

Ngorongoro

The road from the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Highlands is one of the most scenic routes in Tanzania. There is much to discover along the way. You spend the night in an attractive lodge in the Ngorongoro Highlands area, just outside the Ngorongoro Crater. The Maasai live in this area and you will definitely meet them.

You will have an amazing safari in the Nogorongoro Crater. With a bit of luck you can spot the Big Five (elephant, rhinoceros, lion, leopard, buffalo).

Central Serengeti

The next day you will drive to the central part of the Serengeti, a beautiful green area that is home to wild animals all year round.

Serengeti literally means ‘endless plains’. You’ve probably never seen that far in your life. In search of fresh grass, millions of animals flock to this park all year round, which has so much to offer.

Northern Serengeti

The next day you continue to the northern part of the Serengeti, the millions of ungulates are now in this area and roaming around in search of water and fresh grass. This phenomenon is one of the seven wonders of the world and is called the Great Migration. Simultaneously, countless predators move with them.

You will go on several safaris over the next few days to see as many animals as possible. Arriving at the Mara River you will be amazed by the courage, energy and perseverance of the wildebeest to cross this river. Countless crocodiles lurk in the river… A truly unforgettable spectacle.

Arusha

The next day you go to Arusha city. You are back in the city where your safari started. You can choose to stay at your lodge today or do an activity in the area.

Would you like to see and experience even more? Then it is of course possible to extend this safari, for example with a stay on the Tanzanian coast or one of the tropical islands.

If not, you will fly from Arusha – Kilimanjaro Airport – back to Amsterdam in the evening where you will arrive the next morning.
