Delicious Zanzibar

Welcome dinner

You will be picked up at Zanzibar airport by our driver, who will take you to your hotel (Uzuri Villa or Sharazād Boutique Hotel) in the fishing village of Jambiani on the Southeast coast, with the most beautiful beaches.

The next day, take some time to acclimatize in your hammock or take a dip in the turquoise Indian Ocean.
A drink – with fresh exotic fruit – follows at 6 p.m. and the welcome dinner at Uzuri Villa at 7 p.m.
This is your formal introduction to the secrets of Zanzibar cuisine and its spices. Seasonal seafood, vegetables and fruits, prepared in a classic Zanzibar way and with Indian influences.

3-course Sharazad

After a delicious breakfast, with exotic fruit and freshly squeezed juice, enjoy the sun, sand and sea today and spend a lazy day on Jambiani’s white palm beach or by the pool of your hotel.

At the end of the afternoon, prepare for the 3-course dinner in Sharazad. This boutique hotel has one of the best restaurants on the southeast coast. You can expect a special menu here, prepared with seasonal vegetables and fresh herbs. Before dinner starts, you can enjoy a drink here at sunset.

Beach BBQ

Today is all about exotic fruit and the beach BBQ and starts in the afternoon with a tasting of seasonal fruit prepared in different ways. Guaranteed to taste fruit like you’ve never had it before.

A little further north is Michamvi. At the head of the peninsula you walk with your loved one and at sunset along the Chwaka Bay, where a Swahili BBQ is waiting for you. A BBQ of the fish and other seafood caught that day, prepared with delicious herbs. That is pure enjoyment of everything the sea has to offer, the peace and the view.
Guaranteed quiet and delicious, accompanied by a warm breeze and campfire. Very romantic!

Dinner at The Rock

A real phenomenon, this restaurant on a rock. The Rock is one of the coolest places in Zanzibar!
The Italian-inspired menu is packed with Zanzibar seafood and is prepared with fresh herbs, vegetables and fruits from Zanzibar.
When the tide is out, you can walk to the rock, but at high tide you will be taken from the beach by boat.
Enjoy this to the fullest in this idyllic place.

Dhow sailing

Today you leave Kizimkazi with the Mimi, a traditional fishing boat, across the Indian Ocean. After an hour and a half enjoying the sound of the waves, you will reach the Pungume corals, one of Zanzibar’s top three snorkeling spots.

After snorkeling, the Mimi moors on a deserted beach or sandbar. While you enjoy the sea and the view, the chef prepares a delicious and impressive BBQ lunch. Seafood is on the menu along with local specialties and exotic fruits. After lunch it is time for some rest, reading, swimming or just enjoying the breathtaking view.

Evening dinner will take place at Mwezi Boutique Resort. Very cozy with those huge lounge sofas, very suitable for a refreshing aperitif.

Spicy Stone Town

Today you travel to Stone Town. On the way there you will have lunch on a spice farm. On this family farm you will learn everything about herbs and other cultivated raw materials of Tanzania.

After lunch you check in at Kholle House and you are expected before sunset on the roof terrace of The Swahili House. One of the best places in Zanzibar to enjoy the magnificent sunset over Stone Town and the Indian Ocean with a cocktail in hand ..

Tonight you eat in Abysinnin Maritime. From your pouf you share dishes from tasty Ethiopian cuisine together. Socializing with the locals while enjoying a cup of ginger tea? That is possible at Babu Chai, at the Forodhani Park.

Roof terrace dinner

After breakfast, the city tour of Stone Town begins. A discovery of the real Zanzibar and its mysterious history. Together with your guide, you will visit the Darajani Market where everything the island has to offer is sold with local specialties. A celebration of recognition!
You will visit the Zanzibar Coffee House that serves coffee from award-winning coffee beans from its own coffee plantations in Mbeya. Roast your own coffee beans ?! Lunch is served at the popular Luukman´s, which serves delicious Swahili dishes.

The sunset drink and a 3-course fusion dinner is served at Emerson on Hurumzi. This very attractive and romantic restaurant is very good and has a 270 degree sea view from the comfortable lounge cushions.

Departure

Today you will be picked up at Kholle House and transferred to Zanzibar airport, for a flight to Dar es Salaam and from there the connecting flight back to Amsterdam.

Do you want to see and experience even more? Then it is of course possible to extend this trip, for example to Pemba Island or with a hiking and / or jeep safari in Ruaha or Selous or one of the other beautiful national parks on the mainland of Tanzania.
