About Firefly Boutique Lodge
Firefly Boutique Lodge is a simple and small-scale lodge in a lively location in the heart of Bagamoyo, close to the fishermen’s beach on the Swahili coast, just 60 km north of Dar es Salaam.
Firefly Boutique Lodge is set within the ancient coral rock walls of Abdun’s Palace, a beautifully restored historic building set in beautiful gardens.
You can relax in the green palm garden and by the swimming pool.
The property
The eight unique suites of Firefly Boutique Lodge are all simply but attractively decorated in a bohemian style. From the garden you have a beautiful view of the azure blue Indian Ocean and the activity of the fishermen on the beach, who offer their catch at the adjacent fish market.
After a delicious drink in the spacious and green garden and communal courtyard, with many places and cushions to relax, you can enjoy delicious fresh dishes with vegetarian options.

Rooms
In addition to the spacious suites in the main building, Firefly Boutique Lodge also has:
A dormitory room – The Cove – with 8 single beds and a private bathroom, located on the ground floor. Perfect for large families/or groups of friends on a budget.
Garden tents in the shelter of the garden, equipped with fans, solar lighting and an ensuite bathroom. Hot water for showering is provided.
A shady campsite, located just a few meters from the beach, with a toilet block offering hot water in the evening. You can use the facilities of the lodge.
And a recently renovated historic house – Iliki Villa -, in a more quieter location 4 minutes’ walk from Firefly Boutique Lodge. The villa has two bedrooms, a large kitchen/diner, outdoor and indoor bathrooms, a private swimming pool and garden. Guests at Iliki Villa can enjoy their breakfast at Firefly Boutique Lodge, or have breakfast delivered to the Villa.

Bagamoyo Beach Lovers was founded in 2016 by Firefly Boutique Lodge, in response to the horrendous amount of waste piling up on the Tanzanian coastline. In just a few years they have made enormous progress and their team is now the leading beach management unit in the coastal region.
