Guide George was excellent

The trip through Tanzania went well. The guide George was excellent, knows a lot and knew how to avoid risks and still find a number of extraordinary elements. Among other things, we found his knowledge of birds very pleasant. We thanked him, of course, but you can do that too on our behalf, with compliments. The overnight locations were great, everything was well taken care of. If we have to make a comment, the Green Camps should have more variety on the menu, we have certainly had all the dishes twice. (That’s because the camps work with a weekly menu and stayed here twice on a Tuesday and Wednesday.)

The Africa Amini Hillside Retreat is an absolute must: beautifully located, pleasant home, relaxing on the terrace, nice outings, but above all a very friendly and enthusiastic crew, with excellent varied food, even for us as vegetarians. For us a good alternative to Zanzibar.

The chosen route is excellent, but a possibly even more attractive alternative would’ve been 3 or 4 nights in Africa Amini, then flown from the Serengeti to Dar es Salaam and then back home. This would’ve saved us a lot of kilometers on a double route, a few nights and the waiting times at Kilimanjaro airport and as a result of the stopover on the return trip.

All in all, we look back on a great trip that couldn’t have gone much better.
