The ‘Out of Africa’ feeling

26 July 2021 | Jorn, Meike, Daan, Tim en Lotte

Still a bit exiting to go during this period of Covid, but we (Family, three children (14, 13 and 11)) are now so happy that we went! We made our dream trip and our expectations were really exceeded!

The days before our departure we had the necessary tests done, which is of course different from what you would do “normally” as preparation. But when the results were all in, our holiday really started.

Upon arrival in Arusha we were welcomed very friendly and taken to our first accommodation. We arrived a bit later and were still able to have some delicious food and drinks. The people are really so friendly and you notice that they are very happy that tourists are coming again and that everything is possible again!

In the ten days after that we made our safari; from Tarangire to Lake Manyara, then the Ngorongoro Crater and then on to Middle Serengeti and North Serengeti.

It was really an amazingly beautiful trip where every destination was different. We spent the night in the most beautiful green camps where we saw the elephants pass by on a river bed next to a waterfall. And in the Serengeti where we really had the out of Africa feeling. We saw a lot of wildlife with the highlight being the crossing in the north at the Maya river (indescribable!)

Then we flew on to Zanzibar to enjoy the safari with sun, sea and beach for a few more days. There we made a very nice snorkeling tour where we saw dolphins.
