War Child Kilimanjaro Challenge 2020
In January we, Arnauldand Camille (father and son), together climbed the Kilimanjaro, Tanzania’s pride and the highest point in Africa. After 6 days of climbing, Uhuru Peak was reached at an altitude of 5895m. The diversity of landscapes of the Kilimanjaro, the extreme altitude and the different climate zones made it an insanely cool and very challenging expedition.
We did this to acquire sponsorship for War Child, which is committed to children in war zones. Every step to Uhuru Peak was made with War Child in mind. In Swahili, ‘uhuru’ means freedom and with this action a contribution is made to offer freedom to as many war children as possible.
Afterwards we enjoyed 3 days in the Africa Amini Maasai Lodge. A very nice eco lodge with a view of the Kilimanjaro run by and for the local Maasai.
