What a world experience. Unforgettable landscapes and vistas. Very varied flora and fauna. A lot of respect for our guides Paul, Valence and Herold and our 14 porters! We have benefited a lot from their professional attitude, but above all their drive, cheerfulness and unremitting energy have brought us a lot of positives during the intensive trail. The weather was also good; not a drop of rain, little wind and actually only in Shira Camp 1 we had it really cold at night. The night to the top was tough, but our guides expertly coached us up.

Our ‘after-trip’ to Tarangire National Park was also fantastic. Guide Gabriel a calm, passionate, professional guide showed us a lot about all the wild life in the park. The boys were amazed at the multitude and diversity of animals. Up to and including a nocturnal elephant and buffalo right in front of our safari tent…
The view from Tarangire Safari Lodge is heavenly. On the last day before the return trip, it was wonderful to hang out in the beautiful luxury Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge. Although the contrast with the poverty of a few streets further is great.

Congratulations to Explore Tanzania. Everything was right. All (partial) arrangements were well organized. We were received personally and with attention everywhere. The hospitality of the Tanzanians is great and genuine; We can learn something from that here in the Netherlands…

The only moment we have felt less comfortable was on the way to the exit from the main road to and from Tarangire National Park. Dozens of jeeps loaded with tourists blast daily at high speed over the dirt road to the park; leaving the locals and many children along the road in an incessant, suffocating dust cloud. I know: this is Africa, but a few kilometers of asphalt could solve a lot here…

We had a fantastic trip. As my travel companion Koos said: ‘Africa sticks to you’. And so it is.
